Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary - Nishantha Ranatunge has departed for the ICC Board meeting in London instead of SLC Chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa, reports say.
The ICC Board has gathered in London for its fourth and last meeting of the year. The event, which commenced yesterday will continue today (October 19) as well.
Internal sources say that Mr. Ranatunga has departed for the meet instead of Mr. Dharmadasa over the influence of Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage who has informed Ranatunga to leave and Dharmadasa not to.
However, the media release of the ICC on the meeting states that "the ICC Board consists of the chairman or president from each of the 10 Full Members plus three elected Associate Member representatives," hence giving the idea that it was the Presidents or Chairmen of the respective cricket Boards that were expected to attend the event.
The ICC Board will be discussing a wide range of topics, including FTP, DRS, Bad Light and the ODI playing conditions, the media release says.
